I am proud to announce that October’s Member of the Month is our very own Andrew Kaback! Andrew has been an outstanding member of our organization ever since his induction during the fall semester of his freshman year, 4 short years ago. He started off impressing us by leading a PBL team to victory in the Target Case Study Competition, winning $3,000 for the organization. After years of learning and growing within the organization, his is now distinctly giving back to our members.
“Organized and fantastic.” Those are just some of the words used to describe Alina Crisi as PBL members comment on the outstanding job she did as recruitment chair for this fall semester. After being selected to be recruitment chair in August, Alina worked tirelessly with the PR team to put together a week that drew in over seventy interviewees. With each passing night, potential members commented that her support, kind words and quick responses to questions made them feel welcomed among our membership and eager to come back to each night.
Fall 2012’s recruitment week was a complete success!
After an exciting Recruitment Week (9/3-9/8) led by Recruitment Chair, Alina Crisi, University of Pittsburgh's Phi Beta Lambda brought on sixteen new members for the Fall semester. Through fifty-seven interviews on Saturday, September 8, 2012, PBL is now proud to recognize those sixteen well-deserving New Members.

One of the most exciting events this month for PBL was the Target Case Study Competition. Two teams from PBL competed amongst eight teams on March 17th, first of which consisted of Rebecca Schriver, Nate Boros, Lindsey Dietz and Sean Kiray, and the second of which was Sarah Weber, Emily Dotson, DJ Bowers and Eric Liberatore. From there Target representatives negotiated and discussed which teams would be able to present in the final round on March 31st.
